If I move to a newer server, will I have to redo all of my movies?

When I first started importing movies years ago, I used the name that was given by the burner or ripper, and fixed the incorrect match if there was one, as I imported them. Being that I’m switching from Synology to a Mac and leaving the movies in the Synology, the movies directory is going to change, which I’m assuming will trigger another import, leaving all of those movies from the beginning that were not correctly named being incorrectly matched again? or will it remember and import them correctly?

If you had put the imported movies in your Channels DVR Imports/Movies directory
Capture
You can add that (path to Imports parent directory) as an additional storage path and it will work
Additional Storage Paths
Because Channels DVR stores the relative path to those in its database.

Otherwise, if you had put them elsewhere and defined Movies Import directories for them

Then you'll have to re-import and fix match again. Because Channels DVR stores the absolute path to those in it's database.

Well shit.. that’s a problem. I have 3,880 movies and I’m pretty sure over 2,500 will need to be renamed.

I wonder if something like Tiny Media Manager could help. I've used it in the past with good results. Setting up some sort of testbed to check it out first, would be advisable.

It’s definitely worth a try.
