I'm so confused about how Passes works

  1. I select the program I want to create a pass for
  2. I select Record > All Episodes
  3. I select Keep > All Recordings

I look at the guide and there is no indication that the show is set to record. I look at the Scheduled Recordings and there is no indication that any of the episodes are scheduled.

What more do I need to do?

Manually recording is the only thing that seems to work.

Works fine here. (though mine is set for New eps only)
If there are no eps shown in Scheduled tab, then, there isn't any eps being aired i guess.
In the Passes tab, it shows how many recordings is scheduled for that show.

In the Guide, if a show is set to record, u see an icon next to it.
scheduled%20guide

Doesn't work for me though. It seems to work on some passes, but not others.

And you are wrong about the episodes that are airing. I see many episode in the guide but they just aren't getting scheduled.

When you add a new pass there should be log entries. I believe the programs are scheduled when the guide updates as well. I’d suggest checking the log on the DVR server web console to see if there are any errors there.

What show?

Perry Mason

For me, when i set a Pass, it schedules it instantly. I see it reflected in the guide.
I just set some random show as a Pass and to record all eps, and it showed 5 eps scheduled in both tabs. Also, it shows the orange icon next to the ep in the show.

So, something is up with your server.....what version u using and on waht device?
Are u setting them form the WEb UI of the server, or via one of the Channels Apps?

I'm going to wait for tmm1 on this one. He is the answer man

he gonna ask u the same basic questions i just asked u.
would help yourself to answer them.

Can you take a screenshot of your "Edit Series Pass" screen? I wasn't able to replicate this issue when I selected "All Episodes" when creating a pass for this show.

For the episodes that are listed, what network are they listing?

Did a little more digging. It turns out the reason it won't record the episodes is because the database believes they have already been recorded. However, when I look in the list of Perry Mason recordings, most of them are not listed there. It is as though the database knows they were recorded at some point in the past and even though they are no longer there it believes they are.

Is there a way to clean up the database so it matches what I actually have recorded?

If you go to the Passes listing and select the "Advanced" option, in the "Misc" section is a check mark for "Re-record deleted episodes." Select that and all episodes will record again.

Or, if you select the "Recorded" drop down, there's an option to "Mark as not recorded", and if you do that, then it will be queued for future recording again.
