hello i am trying to use streamlinks manager to create strm files but not for any traditional paid service but instead for an iptv provider I asked this question a while back and the only answer that i got sent me a link to the website here on channels where stream links manager was and is spoken about but there was nothing there about this, if anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated Merry christmas!
How to get a .strm (Stream File) instead of a .strmlnk (Stream Link) is described on the repo:
In other words, put your link in the Stream Link Override field and chose Make STRM.
SLM cannot help you determine what those links are. You must provide them yourself and no one here can assist you with that. Only you know what your service is and how its links are provided, therefore the onus is on you and you alone to get working, valid, and legal links.
Otherwise, that's all there is to it! The next time you generate your Stream Links/Files, they will be what you set them as.
Hmm. I feel like some details are being left out, if I remember your original question? Where are you expecting this content to appear in the Channels interface? In the Guide along with other linear, broadcast channels? Or in your library, with other recorded movies and TV shows?
in the Library, with other recorded movies and TV shows
thank you
so is this under the settings tab?
No, please read the extremely detailed directions with screen shots under Usage | Stream Link/File Manager on the repo.
but I see that there is the option to search individually for movies or shows and then create stream files but is there anyway to get the program to search for all movies or all shows and create stream files without having to type in the name of each movie or show one by one? Thanks in advance!
You mean like a list of the hundreds of thousands--if not more--of movies and shows that exist in the world and just start check boxing them?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no.

That said, if your search terms are generic enough and you have your results number set to a sufficiently high threshold, you'll get a lot of results and can check multiple at once. This, too, is described in those same directions linked above. An additional detailed example was given in the release notes when this feature was added:
