Imac fatal crash

I’ve been using channels DVR for about a year now running through my iMac. I just took a power surge that looks to have killed my hard drive. can’t get any of the disk and reinstall operating systems to work. While I’m trouble shooting I want to get a solution for getting the channels dvr up and running. I have an old iMac 9.1 running yosemite vs 10.10.5 which I think is too old. And I have an old pc laptop laying around. Can I setup channels dvr on that? This is for home use only and I have 4 atv4ks networked in with two hdhr duo’s. all hard wired. Second question is how do I move my accounts over to the pc or anything else? I’m subscribing to channels dvr now. no need to pay again.

You just download the DVR software and install it. It will ask you to log in, and that's all you need to get it back up and running.

Thank you, that worked. turns out my old imac can handle it. I used the same hard drive from my broken imac and it records and plays back fine but none of my recordings or passes are there. is there a way to have those recognized?

You need to visit http://127.0.0.1:8089/restore after installing to restore a backup.

thanks for the quick reply. to clarify, whenever I switch storage devices I can co toe the restore link above to restore a backup? thank you
