recently I have started getting image quality issues with live tv. The signal with freeze, scramble or go out of sync to sound. It seems to happen also once I have paused live tv. The signal is unwatchable.
Another unrelated issue is If I change channels at times, I will get a black screen and will have to select another channel to get live to work.
This is happening with both the latest beta version and purchased app.
This is almost always due to either a home network issue or an antenna issue.
If your ATV is wireless, try using a cable or vice versa. Also try some other apps, like VLC or InstaTV Pro on the ATV, or HDHomeRUN VIEW on your computer to see if they have the same problem.
I had this for a few days, and then it just went away. Wasn’t able to lock it down to either network, tuner, or App. Very weird. There are also some cool ways to debug the tuner and see if you are getting network or signal errors. Check out the “hdhomerun_config” command and try doing some debugging when you are seeing problems. Also, if you use a web browser to connect to your tuner, you can get some data that way.
I had this issue. I’m from England. I purchased a signal attenuator and attached it before the hdhomerun as I read that we have problems with FM signals in this location being too strong. This fixed the issue. I took the signal down from 99% for most channels to around 70% and it’s working fine now.
