very sorry to ask this, but where would I start? I have a Tivo Stream 4K, a Jtech HDMI encoder, and Channels running on a Synology NAS in a docker container. I want to use the Tivo Stream device to serve as input to a CDVR tuner and I'm hoping that the Hulu Live TV channels I'm entitled to show up in a guide and I can then schedule recordings on CDVR. I've been wandering around the large collections of posts and dont know where to start. I have Oliveton and Portainer running.
I think I start here? ADBTuner: A "channel tuning" application for networked Google TV / Android TV devices - Playground - Channels Community
Was able to use Olivetin to build adbtuner in docker and NAS_IP_Address:5292 comes up with a page to config what looks like the Tivo Stream 4K.
Can someone confirm that I do in fact need an HDMI encoder for this? Some research is saying it will go over WiFi from the tivo device and no HDMI encoder needed...
You can use your TiVo 4K to stream from your channels DVR server wirelessly but you need an encoder to let your channels DVR server see the output from the TiVo 4K.
What would the point of "You can use your TiVo 4K to stream from your channels DVR server wirelessly" be? I am trying to get the channels I subscribe to on Hulu Live TV that are running on the Tivo Stream 4K device into the CDVR via a guide so I can record them. I get some channels via TVE, but DRM'd stuff like ESPN I can't get via TVE. I need to connect the Tivo device to an HDMI encoder and tell the ADBTuner website running on the docker container the IP address of the Tivo device and for Streaming Endpoint I enter the IP address of the HDMI Encoder right?
The TiVo Streamer has to be plugged into the encoder.
That's what I thought. There is some documentation out there that claims video is streamed wirelessly from the android streamer onto the LAN and cdvr picks it up that way. Did that used to work in some cases? Anyway, I'll wait for my encoder to arrive.
Android Box (HDMI ) -> Encoder

Network (Ethernet)
Enable USB Debugging (set static IP on both devices). Pass Android box IP and MPEGTS endpoint to ADB Tuner.
Profit?
only with some Self-sealing stem bolts*
I bet it was just wireless adb
Yeah, wireless debugging causes some issues. That never works right. Usually turning on USB debugging opens up port 5555 and then it works just fine.
Has anyone had success getting tivo stream 4k to work with ADBtuner and an encoder?. Trying to test deeplinks and can't find the channels ids needed because the tivo device seems to not expose them.
That has nothing to do with the TiVo. TiVo Stream 4K is just an Android box. I think there's a misunderstanding here of how this is supposed to work. It has everything to do with the app you're trying to tune with. You just need the deep link for the app you're going to tune with. And most of these apps are documented in the ADB tuner thread. And also Olive Tin for Channels has some utilities that will pre-populate for you for several providers.
I gave up. Could not get deeplinks to work w Hulu. Tivo stream 4k didn't seem to like it either. Onto ah4c....
