Hey guys.
I want to share a recording with the relevant edl file with another dvr (different sub). The recording is a mpeg. Both DVRs run on macOS.
I tried to create a new folder in the TV folder where the other dvr has its recordings and transferred the file across, then restarted the dvr. It doesn't seem to like it.
I can't put it in the library since mpegs don't seem to be compatible. Is my only option to covert the file ?
You can’t add content in that directory. That’s only for recordings that Channels makes.
If you want to add content to your library, you have to use the local content feature.
Thanks John, yes I can do that. I guess I expected that it would work since it was a recording made by the DVR.
Also am I noticing correct behaviour in it not accepting the mpg file. I have converted it to a mp4 and sorted it. Just curious.
It will accept an mpeg or any format just fine. Just be sure the file is named according to the conventions.
