Thank you very much for the feedback. It IS appreciated.
In regard to the feedback:
Collections:
I already have re-created my Plex "collections" manually in Channels for Movies, and it works very well. But for Combined Chronological it is not a good solution for Chronological order for franchises like "Star Trek" where there are Television shows and movies.
Virtual channels:
Unless I'm not grokking "Virtual Channels" correctly, this doesn't appear to be the setup I'm seeking for watching Chronological order for franchises? I do not think I want a Virtual Channel to represent a playlist. I don't want a bunch of Virtual Channels to weed thru? Nor do I want this to appear in the Guide. This is all for owned media local content.
What I'm seeking is a hierarchical tree, with a "Playlist" (or similar top-level) with sub-list of a "playlist" that will contain chronological ordered shows from a Franchise that will include both TV and Movies. Ex: Star Trek, Stargate, Star Wars, Marvel Universe, etc.). Ideally, it would be awesome if the playlist could be "smart" and tag by "watched" status.
Plex already does this, and we can export such playlist via Tautulli as M3U.
Recreating these playlists (like those mentioned above) manually in Channels appears to defeat the purpose of Computer automation to streamline tedious repetitive tasks. It WOULD take a very long time (and very tedious) to recreate my Plex Chronological playlist for Marvel Universe (as example) which contains all Movies and all TV shows and they are complexly interleaved for Chronological Order.
If anybody has any ideas along these lines I would very much appreciate the feedback! Thanks!
