I just noticed this in my DVR schedule:
When was this feature introduced? I just checked the announcements for the past 15 days and didn't see it mentioned. Was it included as part of "Internal updates"?
This is cool. Now I don't have to worry about getting duplicate episodes (imported + recorded.)
Any plans to extend this feature to movies?
Episodes use Gracenote to get metadata movies use the TMDB so Channels does not consider imported movies as recorded.
That's true. It's nice, though, that Channels is able to recognize an import in the schedule so that it doesn't record it again. In my experience, this is new. Maybe I missed something before. 
For movies, there may be hope because I read a post from maddox recently in which he said that they are aware of the issues this creates and might deal with it at some point.
