Upgraded my phone from a 6 to 7 and noticed an improvement in battery life. Don’t have solid numbers but the difference was enough to catch my attention. This Sunday I was painting in the back yard. I spent about 3 hours before lunch streaming music using Pandora to a Braven Bluetooth speaker. After lunch I decided to use Channels to listen/watch a 1pm football game again with sound out of the Braven. I primarily listened but occasionally went to the phone to watch a replay of a significant play. As the postgame ended I realized I better check battery life. I was far enough to be stretching my wireless coverage so my 6 would have been done. I was happy to see the 7 had 37% battery left after a full football game, some pre and post game, and hours of streaming music. Switched back to Pandora and was fine until I broke for the day and dinner. New A10 processor must have an easier time with MPEG decompression.
Awesome, great to hear!
Happy to share some good news. Realized I left out some technical details. I was using high decoder quality, so that didn’t help with battery life. However, I was using mobile transcoding setting with a HDHomerun Extend so phone was decoding H264. That probably helped battery life although I regularly use this setting with iphones and ipads.
