Inconstant commercial skipping (updated)

I have a pass set to record all episodes of Midsomer Murders. It is strictly on Ion+ which is on two channels in my area. If the episode is recorded on one channel, the commercial skipping works fine, but if records on the second channel, it hardly skips commercials & skips part of the shows. If the two channels broadcast the same episodes, I'd just record one channel, but they are different & there are more on the bad channel.

Any ideas?

Update: Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. I've checked more of the episodes & find that most of them are not skipping commercials correctly, only a couple have skipped correctly. I guess I either need to figure out what makes these shows different than other passes or just put up with it. Might it have something to do with it being a British show? At this time this is the only show I record that isn't of US origin & the only one that has so much trouble skipping.

Are you able to fix the skip points by going through the verification process (edit commercials in the webUI or on an iOS device)?

It's easy to use, and fast, once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the response.
I am a total neophyte, I suspect I don't know enough to be dangerous! I'll have to do some research to see how to do what you suggested. My whole career has been hardware oriented so I'm having to branch out now that I have retired.

Commercial skipping is usually good, but rarely great -- without a touch of user intervention.

If you go into the DVR - Manage section of the CDVR WebUI, you'll see that each recording has an Edit Commercials option.

This allows you to look at the blocks that were identified as possible commercials, and flip them from show to commercial or vice versa.

This is typically very effective in getting commercial skipping from good to great. Once you've done this, the recording will have a "Verified" tag
