Incorrect Channel Mapping

Only thing close to a Mac in this household is my wife's iPhone. Thanks anyway. Surprised (and concerned) then I'm your only client in my area...although I'm assuming I might just be the only Comcast customer and hopefully you have other OTA customers. I'm hoping to switch to OTA with you soon, but need to make sure the solution is solid before cutting Comcast TV service.

If you have a PC you can use command prompt:

curl.exe -XPUT --data '{"""810""":"""91446"""}' http://x.x.x.x:8089/dvr/guide/stations/USA-MA20428-X

Oh, ok. I just did, it returned a 'true' result, but I'm not seeing anything different in the Channels lineup. Is there anything else I need to do? Another refresh?

Yea do a guide refresh. Don't use SHIFT anymore as that will overwrite the change you just made.

Nope, no luck. Guess I'll have to wait for Zap2it to fix it. I already got the auto-reply from them, hopefully they'll fix or at least respond in a few days.

Thanks.

Looking forward to your more advanced commercial skipping later this year. I love that you only mark the commercials (opposed to Plex which is destructive and deletes them). Both have pros/cons, although Plex's detection does an amazing job at my wife's General Hospital and reliably trims it down to 36 minutes, whereas your recording from today only trimmed it down to 45 (I think).Granted I was able to go through the screenshots you list and deselect the commercial breaks you listed to get it down to 36, but I don't be doing that for a weekly program let alone a daily (that I don't watch).

Looks like they've fixed 810 to be the correct NBC Boston schedule (although the SD version (which I don't care about) is still mapped incorrectly, but I've told them about this too). Although even after a refresh as well as deleting and re-adding the tuner, you're still showing the incorrect mapping. Does it take a while for their API access to get updated? Although I would think it would be the same DB on their end. I've also tried searching for NBC and WBTSCD, and nothing relevant is coming up.

You may need to stop and restart the dvr software to force it to reload the available stations

I just looked and it appeared to be 95% fine, although there was still some shows from Telemundo scattered around (which was strange). I edited the channel list and there was an available "x" next to the Telemundo mapping for NBC. I clicked that, and it went back to the correct WBTSCD NBC channel. I then did a re-download of entire guide, and now it appears to be all the correct English NBC shows in the schedule.

Now that I know you use Zap2It for EPG data, why aren't you getting your episode show descriptions from them as well? As you're only displaying a quick sentence, where Zap2It's description on their site is 2-3 sentences (the first of which is not the same as yours). Unless their API maps to an abbreviated episode description?

Zap2It is run by Gracenote, who also provides guide info to Channels, SiliconDust, DirecTV, and many others.

As part of their service, they often provide 2 different descriptions of items: a brief short one-liner, and a second longer more descriptive one. In Channels, the guide usually shows the shorter one, and I believe the info window displays the longer one.

Where's this "info window" you speak of? I've looked both in the web management site in both recordings and schedule, as well as the app in side of recordings and schedule. I don't see any place to click to get a more detailed description. Both HDHR and Plex display the full episode description in the guide.

Could you add an option to include more detailed descriptions in the guide? I guess there might be some people who would prefer the abridged version, but I'd prefer as many details as possible (not a book though).

In checking HDHR EPG data just now, my fix that Zap2It implemented made HDHR revert back to Telemundo!! LOL. How is that even possible?! They were always displaying the correct guide data for NBC Boston, but now they're not?! I know this doesn't impact you, just thought it was very strange that they were fine before and now they're not.
