It would be great if we had an Installer or Reseller mode available to allow VARs to setup the server, channel guide, favorites and custom channel groups, then add the user account.
If this exists and I don't know how to do it, apologies!
The available channels depend on the end-user's hdhomeruns and tve subscriptions. And the DVR is a per-user subscription. I can't see how setting up that stuff is possible to do and resell, unless you are a tv provider / owner of some specific channels and are hosting some sort of public m3u that will be the only thing you setup for your users.
I don't think its currently possible. But maybe the devs would work with you if you have some reasonable case to purchase subscriptions and resell them.

I'm sorry you can't see it; there's a sizeable market of TiVo / Cable DVR consumers who would switch to a better solution if only somebody would help them a bit. I sell a complete solution including hardware, setup, and service.
Channels gets a licensed user, I get a pleased customer.
What I'm looking to do is shorten the time between hardware delivery and customer delight. Rather than install hardware and then spend hours doing account setup onsite or remotely, it would be GREAT to be able to do the guide setup, channel groups, etc....) at my shop, then drop off, log in with the end user to Channels, and reauthenticate their TVE account (which is currently easy enough to do).

Channels is a consumer product directed at end customers. There's no plan on changing this.
I would suggest collecting their info and creating their account for them prior to setup, then just handing over their box.
