Intel Meteor Lake-P Intel Arc Graphics in an Unraid Container

I run Channels DVR on an 11th gen Intel NUC with Unraid installed as only a Docker host for Channels DVR, and the container points back to my Synology NAS for all my recordings.

In the Channels DVR container configuration under Unraid, the addition of --device=/dev/dri to the Extra Parameters field allowed my Channels DVR server to acces the Iris Xe iGPU of my older hardware.

Today, I've moved the install to a new ASUS NUC with Meteor Lake-P Intel Arc Graphics embedded in the processor, and my container won't start with the --device=/dev/dri extra parameter, but will if I remove that line.

When I enter the settings of GPU Statistics in Unraid, 00:02.0: Meteor Lake-P [Intel Arc Graphics] - 0000:00:02.0 is selected with a checkbox.

What do I need to add to the extra parameters line of the container setup to take advantage of my new Intel ARC iGPU?

Have you tried the channelsdvr_intel plugin with the recommended "Intel GPU TOP" plugin?

Yes, that's the Docker container I installed for Channels and I also have Intel-GPU-Top and GPU Statistics, which easily enabled commercial detection and Plex hardware transcoding when I originally moved both containers from my Synology NAS to my 11th gen Intel NUC with an Iris Xe iGPU.

Since I've posted, I've heard from two sources that the Linux kernel for the new Unraid version 7 isn't new enough yet, and that I may have good luck with the 7.1 beta when it's released.

An updated install of Ubuntu 24.04 with Plex installed as a Snap package easily allowed me to select my new arc iGPU with a test yesterday.

I'm not often ahead of the technology curve but I think that's where I've landed with this Unraid issue.

Yes it sounds like unraid is missing drivers for that iGPU

You could try a VM and pass the iGPU through to the VM.

I got tired of running hyper converged and all the adventures brings. I was running TrueNAS at the time yet the same types of things happen. I got an N100 box and run Channels DVR and Plex on it with the storage on my NAS. It runs Windows 11 Pro. I'm also running a VM using Hyper-V and it runs my network management and also a backup auscultator. I'm amazed who well that little box runs all of this.
