Hello,
I have noticed more and more during live and playback the audio with randomly cut out. Doesn’t matter the channel or which Apple TV I use. Is there a solve for this issue?
First thing, test the speed to the channels server
Using the Channels App go to Settings - > Support - > Speedtest
These are the result:
2.4ms
74.4 Mbps
210.2 Mbps
Is that good or bad?
I don’t have any knowledge as to what is considered good, but if you want another point of reference:
From my iPad over WiFi, a good distance from the nearest access point, I have 4. 6ms, 195.8 Mbps down, 31.4 Mbps up.
I am seeing similar behavior on my Apple TV clients when watching football on CBS. Switching to the "legacy" audio driver seems to fix it.
Which model apple tv and version of tvOS?
Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) model number: A2843 running the latest, non-beta tvOS, which as of today is 18.1. I am connected via ethernet.
I have 6 of them in the house, I had the issue on both that I used yesterday.
Are you running a DVR server? Which? and are you using Tuner Sharing?
I want to say I am having audio clipping now that I moved back to my QNAP Server only when using tuner sharing. With Tuner sharing if I switch to the Legacy Audio driver the clipping stops and I don't have an issue.
