Internet Streaming Setting

Could someone please advise me on on how to properly set Internet Streaming?
I will be in Greece next week and want to make sure I can reliably stream from my Channels server. Last month I was in the Caribbean and had horrible results with the Internet Streaming set at 8mbps.

  • I have Fios with very reliable 300 Mbps up & down.
  • Both My Channels Pi Server and HDHomerun are connected via ethernet.
    How low should I set it before I leave to still get good streaming/viewing results? Thanks!!

What client device are you streaming with? Did you change the setting in the client app?

I was using an iPad and iPhone and I had it set at 8Mbps on the server to override client settings i think.
Just tell me how you would recommend I set it up to get best performance and I will do it - Much appreciated!!

The quality setting in the web admin is only for the web player.

Clients have their own streaming quality settings. You just set them there.

You can test the bandwidth when you get there using my.channelsdvr.net/speedtest
