Intro detection improvements

Appreciate the recent improvements to the intro detection, has improved a few intros for a couple of shows.

Does the same logic get applied to the credits detection? I notice the same shows still struggle a bit with the credits.

Thanks

Yes, it's the same mechanism for both intros and credits.

I have another quick question on this - Do we need to re-run the detections after updated the server?

@jasonmcroy if it hasn't detected what you wanted previously, yes.

Ok, thanks.

Probably just an edge case for why it’s not being detected.

Any plans or interest for manual/bulk additions?

I used to use plex marker editor to bulk add credits as they seem to be harder to find. Usually is abit easier as you can work out per show or season how long the credits go for and bulk add the last ‘x’ seconds as credits.

It edited the Plex db but I’m hesitant to attempt the same for your db as AI seems to suggest boltdb can be abit more fragile than SQLite?

Greatly appreciate the efforts and work the team was able to do based on my reports of some oddities! Now it catches intros on season 5 of a show more reliably. Season 5 changed the intro song but Eric noticed it was actually using 2 slightly different variations of that new intro song as well. I do still see some “intro” reported in the middle of the episode that are like 5 seconds or less. Would there be any downside to limiting “intro” to the first ~5 minutes of an episode?

I may be mis remembering - but I feel like some of my kids programs that are dual episodes sometimes have a second intro sequence that is matched due to no limit.

It’s pretty quick and easy to mark these as content anyway!

I just looked at my show detections to go ahead and try to mark the mid-show intros I saw before…but either I already did that and completely forgot, or Channels wasn’t quite done processing and finished up processing those out on its own. My show looks good now!
