I see more of these on eBay and wondering if it’s missing something significant vs the newer connect and flex devices?

Absolutely.

There are 2 differences the Flex does ASTC 3 and can also act as a HDHomeRun dvr by connecting a drive and using HDHomerun software. If you have no need for either, then it is a great device.

Thanks. I’m mainly debating because the new Apple TV 4Ks are down to $130 now at BB, Amazon, Costco. Just don’t want to deal with switching inputs for live tv. First world problems.
