Switched to Hulu live 2 weeks ago. Getting chrome timeout error after trying to add a Hulu live TVE source. I've read many of the other posts on this topic citing much difficulty. Should I just give up?
Bingo. Switch to YTTV
I would if YTTV had the regional sports network I need....
I was able to get it working eventually. First had to login and watch for some time via a web browser on the server machine. Once Hulu recognized the IP, after a day to so, then I was able to add via TVE without generating one time codes. The DNS server also mattered - received errors until I switched to 1.1.1.1 from the NextDNS that all the other machines used.
YTTV WAS easier but missing channels, and still had to add ESPN+ and Disney subs so not cost efficient. Fubo was missing too many even with the Fubo docker. Hulu with Prismcast add on fills the most boxes for the money for us right now...
thanks for the reply. What did you mean when you said you watched via the web browser on the server machine. I run channels on a Synology NAS. Where would I log into Hulu Live using a browser from to let it run for a while to get it to recognize the IP address?
I’m running the server on a windows pc. I logged into Hulu directly using chrome both standard and incognito browsers and watched tv over a couple days. Then the CDVR was able to login without generating the one time code emails. You might have some success using another machine on your network. But I used the server pc…
The DNS server change solved an adobe something error message.
I can find no way to log into hulu from my Synology NAS. I can setup firefox in a docker container, but the hulu location authentication fails. Has anyone been successful getting Hulu Live TVE to work with Channels running in a docker container?
I'm going to try your method of letting hulu play on the server for a day or more, but before i found this, I just switched my dns from 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 back to using my ISP provided dns. Do we need to use the 1.1.1.1 dns?
Today I rebuilt CDVR on docker on my Synology NAS with the TVE build and got TVE to work with Hulu Live on the first try. I just told ChatGPT what I was trying to accomplish, and it walked me thru the whole thing. The docker container build is fancybits/channels/dvr:tve Its been working for an hour now. Lets see if TVE stays working. I tried to add the hulu source with the "latest" channels build but got an error message when trying to add the source that the TVE build was needed.
