Is it possible to prevent deduping of channels?

Currently I have a HDHomeRun and YouTube TVE as sources. It looks like Channels is deduping some stations (FOX only shows OTA or TVE depending on priority) while others like ABC will show both the TVE channel and the OTA channel. I believe this is because there's multiple ABC entries to map to while FOX only has 1.

I would prefer to have both in my guide just in case the OTA signal gets weak and I can quickly change to the TVE stream. I would also like TVE to take priority for recording since I know the signal is consistent and the ~30 second delay doesn't matter on a recording. Is this possible?

Thanks!

If you set your TVE device to higher priority than your HDHR in the DVR web UI then TVE channels will be preferred for series pass recordings.

Right, but then the OTA channel is deduped in the guide and I have to watch the TVE everywhere feed.

No, the client always merges the channels, based upon the tuner priority set in the client. (Edit: The only exception are Favorites: when displaying the Favorites section in the Guide or On Now sections, channels are not merged. I stand corrected: the same channel will be merged. I haven't seen this behavior as I don't favorite the same channel from different source types specifically because of the merged channel issues.)

DVR recording priorities are handled separately from the clients, and are managed in the DVR's web UI.

I have both TVE and OTA FOX set as a favorite and I only see the TVE feed in the favorites tab.

But what you're saying is that if on the server settings I have TVE as the 1st priority even if I switch the priority on all my other client devices the TVE feed will still be the one that is recorded?

Interesting. I haven't noticed this as I don't have overlap between OTA/cable/TVE favorites. To me it doesn't make sense to have multiple source types with the same channel as a favorite.

I guess a usable workaround is to list your OTA tuner first in the client priority, but favorite the channels in the TVE source. That way selecting the channel from the guide—other than from the Favorites category—will first try the OTA tuner, but if you want the TVE version you can select it from the Favorites tab.

Correct.

I was wondering about this too for NBCsports. Sometimes I get a restricted error on some games and it would be nice to switch to the other feed to see if that one worked. With all the favorite and ignore options, I can't imagine this would be a negative to anyone.
