I really wanna jump to Youtube TV...the last time I tried I kept getting the authentication error and I wasn't able to authenticate. I have been reading threads that its working now but I want to be able to use it also.
Synology
Agree Synology. If it was docker it wouldn't show in the package center.
ok thank you...so I should be able to get youtube tv working then right?
thank you
When using TVE on Synology based installs of channels, you will need to create a fresh gmail account that has no two factor enabled.
Make sure to add source as Youtube TV and let it scan. You will see j68 channels.
In youtube tv, goo in and add the new gmail account as a family member.
Confirm joining the account and do a re-scan. Channels will pick up the stations.
if at some point you cancel YTTV, don't delete the source. Simply disable the source until you either setup a new account or activate the YTTV account again.
I have a few gmail accounts i do this with all the time.
Sorry I can’t help you with YoutubeTV as I use DirectvStream but plenty of users use YouTube. Just follow their instructions. Good Luck.
does channels only count as one screen being used in your YTTV account?
Channels won't acount against the allowed screens becuase Channels uses TVE feeds for the stations rather than YTTV subscriptions.
If you were using one of the projects that allows for you to pull video from YTTV using an onn box and video encoder, it would count.
Bydefault, if you use the standard Channels TVE options for your account, all is good.
thanks
ohhh that's dope!!! that's also why I can tap into my channels and watch hit while on the road too huh?
channels TVE can be quite helpful. I liked it a while back when the Paramount channels were available on TVE. OH well!!!! at least we have what we have.
i didn't know Paramount was available previously...
Based on what you're posting, you have the Channels DVR Synology Package installed and running.
By default (unless you changed it) it runs on port 8089, although it can be changed.
I have the Synology Package plus 7 docker containers running Channels DVR using different port numbers. Total of eight Channels DVR Servers.
I have some disabled, but it's possible to run multiples of each.
you gotta tell me why are you running so many?
whoo hoo its working
