Is there a benefit to a Windows vs MacOS install?

I had a bootcamp hard drive problem on an imac and lost all my data. Is there any reason to set up windows again vs just using MacOS? I am using a hdhomerun prime and connect along with tveverywhere.

We currently only use it one 1 tv.
