Is there any way to add Xfinity Stream TV

My Xfinity plan includes their Xfinity Stream TV,,, Any way to add it as a source for Channels DVR? I tried the regular Xfinity from the drop down menu but it doesn't seem to work right?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What doesn't work about it?

Cam you access any networks directly?

Xfinity Stream TV is different than regular Xfinity. Regular Xfinity uses a set top box to access the Xfinity system.

Xfinity Stream TV requires no set top box and is accessed through a web browser.

When you scan using the regular Xfinity listed in the drop down, channels show up but dont function.

Xfinity Stream TV requires Flash Player. Yes you can access all the channels through a web browser.

Thanks I hope I answered your question.

So you’re talking about what Xfinity has rebranded at Instant TV (a streaming option on top of internet subscription with no cable)? Does it provide credentialing for TV Everywhere? One way to find out is does your Instant TV credentials (username and password) grant you streaming access to live TV streams from the channel website (FOX, CNN, etc., not Xfinity’s website)? If so then Channels should work. If not, then probably not.

Again, Channels does not use the Xfinity tv website, it uses individual network apps.

XFINITY Stream PIX is an on Demand Stream Service that you have to pay extra for.

XFINITY Stream APP is a free APP to users where they can watch TV away from home minus the OTA Broadcast Channels.

Neither can be used in Channels DVR.

I don't know why this is not working for you @quadracerx. When you add Xfinity to Channels DVR, make sure you select it as a TV Everywhere source. If you've done that and it still doesn't work, please describe exactly what you see.

For background, Xfinity Stream is included free with any Xfinity cable package, offering the same channels via apps and a website. TV Everywhere (TVE) is the back end for Xfinity Stream. Streampix is an add-on service to the Xfinity cable box, but you did not mention that so I assume you're not asking about Pix.

If you have an Xfinity cable package, you can add Xfinity as a TV Everywhere source in Channels. Then with just a few exceptions that are not TVE compatible, you'll have most of the same content.

I think you can buy Xfinity stream as it's own package only that doesn't require cable boxes. It might not come with TVE support

@Richard_smith that would be Xfinity Instant TV. If that's what it's called on your bill @quadracerx please let us know. This would be interesting because I've been wondering if Instant is also a TVE-based service.

Am I correct that Xfinity Instant TV is an app that you run separately from Channels, just like I run the Newsmax app?
