Is there the ability to choose the channel numbers for TVE provider?

I have used Channels for several users using the Synology package on our NAS. I have been migrating the packages I use to Docker to make them more portable if the need were to arise. I was able to successfully transition Channels to Docker. We use Philo as a TVE provider. With the Synology package, the Philo/TVE channels were in the 600 range but after migrating to Docker, the Philo/TVE channels moved to the 6000 range.

It's not the end of the world, but as a result, the Philo channels are now after our virtual channels in the guide, which has caused some confusion in the house. Before I rearrange the virtual channels to be after the Philo channels, is there a way to have the Philo channels back in the 600 range or is the channel range determined in an automatic way?

Go to sources and select the manage drop down. Chose edit settings

Under Options the second line should be changed to Ignore channel-number from M3U
On the next line enter the starting number for the TVE channels

Avoid overlap

Select save

That's it

That “edit” button only appears in the dropdown menu for Custom Channels. It is not available for TVE sources or HDHomeRun tuners.

That's interesting. You can see 6000 being used as the starting channel in the documentation:

It's been ages since I setup TVE and I recall my TVE channels starting at 6000. I did TVE during my original test before acquiring a tuner. It may be that 6000 is the default starting channel for TVE.

If the OP dose not have 6000 as the first channel for TVE, moving other sources away from that channel number and then deleting and reinstalling TVE might work.

Thank you both for the replies. It has been years since I initially added our TVE channels so perhaps the old starting point was 600 and it is now it is 6000. It is not preventing anything from working. I was just curious if they could be modified like Custom Channels. It does not appear to be the case so I'll just adjust our Virtual Channels to avoid confusing the family.

You can use SLM to revert the channel numbers back. You would have to use a separate Channels instance just for TVE and then pipe that into the main Channels instance

That seems like a bit too much effort and server overheard just to re-number channels, but yes, I was thinking about that route too.

In case anyone wasn't aware, PLM's discussion is here:

I use it to collate and de-duplicate all of my custom FAST sources. It's a great and very versatile tool.

It can be done on the same DVR server. It can pull from itself.

What about using Collections and a tool like this

Would be nice if you could set the sort order in the CDVR guide, like this tool does for a source
