Hello,
I moved to a new location and now my carrier is using CGNAT which appears to make it impossible to remote into my DVR. I'm not an expert in any way so hoping if someone can tell me if there is any workaround.
Your only option is a VPN, and that brings with it a whole new host of issues, but it can be done.
Our alarm, surveillance, and irrigation systems all proxy through the manufacturers' servers, so they continue to work when our Internet connection fails-over to the LTE modem I have set up for a fail-over Internet connection backup, but Channels is a no-go. It used to work, until T-Mobile implemented CGNAT.
I've considered setting up a VPN to a server I have elsewhere on the 'net, but, considering that our primary Internet connection fails so rarely, and we even more-rarely use Channels remotely, it's not really worth the effort for just Channels.
This is probably going to become an increasing problem for Channels remote access, as IPv4 address space becomes increasingly depleted and more carriers move to CGNAT.
