Hi, I have two AppleTV and with both i have had the issue that sometimes channels are gone, when I rescan he found them again. Very irritating when you want to watch a program and the channel is gone.
Not sure what you mean here… Does the channel disappear from the Settings tab? Is it only one channel? Do you still see it in other apps?
What model HDHomeRun are you using?
The channel list should only change when a new channel scan happens.

I saw it happen in the favorite, one channel dissapeare and when I look in settings it was gone.

I’ve noticed this happen occasionally. I’m in the UK and Channel5 HD just vanished one day. Then about 2-3days later it reappeared. Quite sure this is a silicon dust issue as the channel didn’t appear in HDHR View app either. Sometimes a rescan sorts it.
It’s possible that the HDHomeRun is doing automatic rescans in the background. I recommend reaching out to [email protected] about this issue and ask them if there’s some way to disable the rescans.
Could you explain what the channel scan from te hdhomerun has to do with scan in channels?
The list of channels is stored on the hdhomerun device. All apps, including Channels, ask the hdhomerun for a list and then show those to the user.
In Channels on the Settings tab, you can click “Scan for channels”. This does the same thing as if you went to the web interface for your hdhomerun, click “Channel Lineup” and click “Scan for channels”.
If the channel is disappearing it means someone clicked “Scan for channels”, or that the hdhomerun automatically did a re-scan. It sounds like maybe this is happening automatically at night, when the station is offline, so it cannot be found and it disappears from the list.
