Issue recording on one channel

I have been using the DVR function on Apple TV for several years successfully. Recently one channel METV is failing to record for no apparent reason. All of the other channels record excellently

Support suggested I orient my antenna!!!!
I don’t use an antenna as my source. I have cable tv fios. Maybe they skipped that section in my email

Anyone have any suggestions why all of a sudden this channel recording is failing?

You can check if it plays in the official HDHomeRun app

The folks at [email protected] may be able to better diagnose cable tuning issues.

The channel plays fine when I simply view the channel.

The recording has a severe case of picalating half time. The other half I get a warning that the show can’t be recorded

I tried reaching out to the hardware side initially. They suggested that it was the software side.

Please provide details and logs. Until you do, no one hears anything except what Charlie Brown hears from his French teacher ...

At 6:02 pm I sent in diagnostics

Hope you can discover what is wrong

I recorded Alfred Hitchcock at 1:05 am today and perry mason at 11:30 last night

Did you try a rescan from the HDhomeRun webpage ?

I did a rescan

I tried recording a Perry mason at 9
This failed

So I tried to watch the channel live
The channel responds with weak signal

I just submitted diagnostics

My silicon dust hardware is 5 years old.

Is the solution to purchase the latest version of the hardware

The other channels are fine

Tune to the channel and then visit the webpage for your hdhr and see what the signal quality is. You may need to adjust your antenna.

Let me clarify

  1. I don’t use an antenna I have cable
  2. Rescanning from the DVR web page is a non starter. It is not a DVR issue, when I go to the MeTV channel to view I get a message “weak signal” (therefore not related to DVR)

At this point the only question I have is->Is my silicon dust hardware the issue ,it is more than 5 years old. Can someone look at the diagnostics log that I sent in this morning to inform me what the issue with MeTV in my setup. Will the most recent version of the hardware solve the issue

There is no newer version of cable tuner.

Weak signal means the cable signal is weak. It's the same as antenna signal but coming over cable.

You can check the cable coming into your tuner. Is it a high quality cable with a thick copper wire inside? Is it plugged in securely?

Try removing any extra splitters.
