Issue with client not refreshing on appletv

Starting a new thread for this. I have my startup section configured to go to a custom section I created. Sometimes when I open the channels app it does not refresh the view, no matter how long I wait. I have to navigate to another section and then back again to force a refresh. This particular time the channels app was open when I powered off the tv.

I submitted diagnostics when i noticed it. Tagging @tmm1 since he asked for more info regarding this issue on another thread

I've noticed on my apple trv, if connection is lost with a channel, the picture freezes for a long time then eventually drops.
The pressing of the menu button on apple tv will eventually take me back to the guide but not instant.

It would be helpful to know what the sections in your Personal Section are, that are not updating.

I only see the first 3 on the screen without scrolling. What usually happens is that I say to myself "I thought we watched that already". Then I toggle the view and a bunch of shows update/tiles move, show watch status updates etc.

You've mentioned 2 very different scenarios:

This would mean the app is currently not active and closed.

This would mean that the app is still active and open.

Are you seeing it on both?

And are you seeing all of those rows not updated? Or just Up Next.

Up Next not updating under certain scenarios is a known bug (which will be getting looked at this week). The other types of rows, I would expect are updating just fine.

Honestly I am not sure as I use a Harmony remote and have it programmed to press back 2 times to get to the home screen and hopefully exit channels. If i am deeper than 2 menus in then it wont quit the app.

I'll make a point to check on this next time I see it.
