Issue with skip forward during in-progress recordings

On my Amazon Fire TV, I like to start watching our local nightly news 10-15 minutes after it starts and skip forward during commercials. This used to work great. However, now when I press the right arrow, I have to press it about 10 times to skip through just one 30 second commercial. During completed recordings, pressing this button skips ahead 30 second as it should.

I am running the Channels server version 2021.08.12.0054 on a Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19043 Build 19043 machine with an Intel i7-7700K processor with 32 GB RAM (72% free). I am recording from an HDHomeRun EXTEND (10585051). I've tried heavy and no transcoding with no diffence.

My home network is an Orbi AX4200 mesh network with an Orbi satalite hard wired to my server and my TV is using WiFi about 8 feet away from my main Orbi router.

First guess would be slow network preventing the buffer from getting full, but if it works fine on a completed recording that doesn’t fit. Are you able to show stats when attempting to fast forward to see the length of buffer it’s maintaining?

Not that I'm aware of. On my Fire TV Channels DVR client I can do a speed test to the server. It shows 105.68 Mbit/s Download with 11.13 MS Latency with 0.93 MS Jitter.

Does it still show the +30s icon every time you click?

Can you submit diagnostics from the app right after this happens next time.
