I had a family uproar this evening when Jeopardy didn't record. I couldn't go backwards in the Channels DVR guide to see why (this should be an added feature in the guide to help a user troubleshoot such issues), so I accessed the guide in SageTV and went back to compare yesterday to today. It appears that yesterday and today both aired Jeopardy season 29 episode 129 at 6pm CST on CBS, and they had the same Show ID for both days - it was recorded and watched yesterday so apparently did not re-record today - makes sense. I checked Zap2it (is that what Channels uses?) and verified similar information. Zap2it does show the episode as "new" both yesterday and today. How long does the program guide list a repeat episode as new - what's the rule?
Channels DVR is just a user of the program guide that is provided by Gracenote (if I'm not mistaken.)
If something is wrong with the guide, there is nothing that the DVR can do, unfortunately.
So I think only Gracenote can answer your questions about the guide data.
But us mere mortals can't ask them.
You could ask zap2it though and they'll probably tell you it came from the network broadcasting it and to ask them.
HEADS UP: The NCAA basketball tournament is airing on CBS at 6pm CT on March 16/17 and regular programming is being preempted. My Lv4 Backup for Jeopardy just got the guide data a couple of days ago, so you might want to look ahead to see if you have anything scheduled.
