Jittery playback on some channels (mostly HD sports)

This mostly is noticeable when it comes to watching sports but it is certainly noticeable. It happens both on my mibox s ( 2 different ones) as well as my 4k firestick. It does not appear to happen when watching the channel on the native HDHomerun app. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

The show plays and it doesn't skip forward in seconds but it appears its its slightly jittery and thats the best way to describe it.

Just to be clear, you're watching an mpeg 2 stream coming from over-the-air TV (or possibly via your cable company on an HDhomerun Prime cable card tuner) through an HDHomerun tuner on Channels DVR, on a TV on the local network (no encoding)?

I have noticed this for as long as I have been streaming. Basketball is the most obvious.

Try playing back the Channels recording in a high end player like Kodi Matrix after it has finished recording. That will get you closer to the issue than random opinions. Good luck.

This is through my hdhomerun prime from a cable card from fios.

Yes i notice it a ton on basketball and football while the play is in motion.

Must be the way the player is handling the recording. Doubt there will be an instant fix but rather slight improvements over time. Good luck.

Could you upload a 5 minute example recording that exhibits the issue to a website where it could be downloaded and tested on other hardware?

I'll have to record some video and see if its an issue on the recording. I honestly never tried it on a recording. But If so I will.

Often this is caused by the client dropping frames, not a problem with the recording itself. If you are watching interlaced content, you could try adjusting the deinterlacing settings to see if it improves.
