Keep getting the same commercials over and over again on TVE

Is there anyway to stop this? We’d never had this issue before, up until a few weeks ago. We’re losing our minds!

Channels does not control the streams. Complain to the network serving the stream.

That is the main reason they are able to Stream ... Commercials... they are working on Smart Commercial TVE and Pluto detection.

I’m aware, I know how it works… just never dealt with the same damn commercials over and over and over again. I didn’t know if something had changed, or if there was something I needed to do to change the content being shown. I’ll play around with my sources and see if it changes anything.

Are you ONLY seeing commercials and NO program, or do you get your program but are just annoyed watching the commercials?

I’m getting programs and commercials like usual, but it’s the same 4-5 commercials every time. Luckily we can skip over them with with recordings, but watching live is a nightmare.

My Spectrum TVE channels have the same 4 or 5 commercials across a whole bunch of different channels - this is a network/provider/tve thing though, not much Channels can do about it - maybe a new feature where you download a library of commercials and have Channels splice in a better variety lol.

As long as the same commercials keep getting skip flagged correctly no big deal. What would be nice would be the ability to pause, go to a different channel, then go back after the commercials and jump to live tv again but I already gave that horse a beating in another thread :slight_smile:

Same commercials, just different orders. On the TV there will be the hospice commercial, and on the computer it will be lottery, etc.

This has been the case for as long as I can remember. Same few commercials over and over. Not a channels issue. It’s simply filling the commercial time with the few sponsors they have by repeating the ads. Discovery’s network is notoriously bad about it.

I didn’t think it was something specific to channels, I was more hoping there was a solution of some sort because it’s driving us nuts, and neither one of us remember it being that bad before, minus a commercial repeating sometimes. I might grab a few cable cards tomorrow for our primes and see how that goes, or just start muting the commercials if nothing else.
