It would be useful to be able to go back in time with the Guide maybe 24 hours to try to figure out why a program didn't record. Was it scheduled? If it wasn't, I would want to enter a Pass for it, which is much more difficult if I have to forward a whole week to find the next episode. Speaking of which, is there a way to skip forward, say, a day at a time on the guide rather than a show at a time?
This may be a limitation of the licensing agreement with Gracenote. (I know that Schedules Direct—another distributor of Gracenote data—specifically disallows caching of previous guide data.)
In the client apps, no; only in the DVR web UI.
As far as keeping stale guide data it was mentioned previously that gracenote doesn't allow them to do that.
You can go back a day in listings at zap2it TV Listings- Find Local TV Listings and Watch Full Episodes - Zap2it.com which uses the same gracenote listings that Channels DVR uses.
You can select a day and time in the DVR web UI grid guide.
I see racameron beat me to it while I was typing
The HDHR app also does not allow previous guide data.
I use M3U/XMLTV from Channels on SageTV and it keeps previous guide data .... comes in handy.
On the guides of our TiVos, I often page back to a show I know WAS on but missed recording to see if/when upcoming shows would be on. I can also use it to fill in missing or truncated metadata in the Channels library.
That is assuming the guide was provided by gracenote. If I supplied the EPG via xmtlv there is no such limitation and the guide could scroll back as many days as are available in history.
I've asked for simple right and left arrow buttons above the guide to let you skip forward and back a day on more than one occasion, but the devs don't really care about the grid guide. It's completely broken on Android and crashes the client or shows you the wrong time for stuff if you scroll around, but again crickets.
