I suggest starting from scratch if you are having issues and you want to test a newer beta.
Delete the Kodi user data folder and reboot device.
I realize this isn't an easy option for some because you will lose all your libraries and add-ons that are set up, but from my experience, this MAY be the only option to getting Channels working properly. YMMV.
It crashed on me and did not populate the guide did nothing.
Edit Working now autodiscovery did not work IP did work.
Guide not populating ... Can you suppress the user name in the log ?

With the latest version TVE epg loads but data for hdhomerun (local) channels does not populate for some reason. Same thing on windows as well as Mac OS. Will try on linux in a few.

With latest version, kodi still not playing recordings.
Thank you for your great work on this dvr plugin.
Note that after you install a new update zip, you will need to quit and restart Kodi. There is an issue where if you try to disable/re-enable the addon it doesn't work and makes Kodi CPU usage go crazy.
I tried on my SHIELD with the latest addon build and I can play recordings.

Been testing for a bit and it seems stable except for the speed with which it updates its recording status. If I am watching a show and I hit record, the status in Kodi continues to list the file as Next Recording. It records the program nevertheless, but it typically takes a bit before the program appears in Kodi. It does show up in Channels right away though. The server is based on a mac mini. I will check later if the pattern is the same for linux.
I can say for now that so far it is almost as stable as my mythtv backend for kodi which incidentally is fed by channelsdvr.
I ran into that issue or something similar.
I don't think it likes the aeon nox silvo skin either or maybe I was getting the update zip or automatic Channels find bug.
I actually like the default skin for PVR but the aeon nox silvo skin for Music is great.
The PlexKodiConnect add-on is also slow to update changes.
Which skin are you using?
I am using the default skin in Kodi. I am testing it with kodi on a macmini though and that install is probably faulty. It crashes whenever I try to exit. I will test with a nvidia shield when I get home. Just need to figure out how to install it since its not apk.
The Kodi install is apk for Shield and it is in the play store.
Channels add-on is a zip.
I am using a Windows 10 laptop with 10th gen intel.

As @tmm1 mentioned, Kodi will get flaky if you mess with the add-on. Maybe that is why you are getting crashes.
Also, Kodi is notorious for crashing on exit. If you run into that, simply stop process and you should be good.
My bad. I wasnt clear. I meant the channelsdvr - pvr - addon for kodi on the shield. Am a bit rusty. My mac mini kept on auto extracting the file and I forgot about installing from zip in kodi.
Kodi does not show program data in the guide for my HDHomerun channels. I only see TVE and PLUTO guide data.16331245685042061079199843914292|666x500

I need to know what version of the addon and what platform (OS and 32/64bit)
For me the hdhomerun epg doesn't populate on MacOS 11.0.1. Latest beta.
I am on Windows 10 64 bit and latest KODI and Channels APP and no guide populates for either OTA or Cable.

I'm on the latest beta with windows 10 64 bit on the latest update. It's OTA HDHomerun.
I just tried the plugin on linux (kde neon) ( pvr plugin version 2021.09.28.2218) and local channels (hdhomerun) epg populates and works perfectly.
I am going to upgrade to the latest version of the plugin and see what happens.
UPDATE: Newest version works perfectly with epg for local channels as well. In bot cases I cleared the channel data and had it repopulate just to be sure.
