Sorry having internet issues, had to reboot. 1 min
Okay I see a request from "Kodi/20.0 (X11; Linux aarch64) CoreELEC/20.0 App_Bitness/32 Version/20.0-(20.0.0)-Git:5c67bb4e24920ebf3a5d45a084d5b78f8cc97f3c"
We're providing the following add-on binary: https://channels-kodi.s3.amazonaws.com/2023.01.13.1915/nexus.pvr.channelsdvr-linux-armhf.zip
I guess somehow its not compatible. I will have to setup a test system to try and figure out why.
Okay cool so the request came though I guess. It was hanging and didn't look like it was even trying to download and my internet speed was crawling... I get that issue sometimes and have to restart my box, but if you can see the request on your side I guess it started at least
You can download that zip file and try to install it manually, but I guess the result will be the same.
I'll give it a shot just in case
It didn't work but it also didn't cause kodi to crash, I just got an addon installation failed error
Update: Nvm it was a problem with the location I downloaded the zip file to. I tried again and it did cause the same crash this time
Yes I have an idea. I'm pushing a new version now you can try in a bit.
Try this: http://channels-kodi.s3.amazonaws.com/2023.02.23.2216/nexus.pvr.channelsdvr-linux-armhf.zip
Any luck?
Yes that worked! Thank you so much!
I have been running this add-on for quite awhile, and it works well, but I have run into 2 bugs:
-
Often a recording will show the episode title of another recent recording of a completely different show. This may be happening for recordings that don't have an episode name of their own,
-
When playing back shows that are still recording, and thus have not run commercial detection, the playback will often randomly skip forward like it does for a commercial, as if it is using the comskip data from another recording.
This has been an issue from the beginning. I haven't figured out any pattern. It seems pretty random.
The skip issues haven't been limited to recordings in progress for me. Some recordings show commercials in the timeline that don't exist, even on networks without automatic commercial detection.
I was thinking maybe if a recording didn't have an episode title or comskip data, it was using the info from the last recording that was processed in the add-on that had that data, instead of making it blank.
No argument here. That makes a lot of sense from what I have seen. I have started using Kodi/Channels again over the past week or so. It would be great if they could clean that up a bit, but it won't stop me from using it regardless, this time of the year.
If you can confirm that this is happening on episodes where there is no episode title, that would be helpful.
v2023.03.29.2058 of the kodi add-on has a possible fix for the commercial marker issue
v2023.03.29.2058 installed. I will see if the commerical issue is fixed going foward.
On the epsiode names, all the ones with incorrect episode names I just checked are ones that do not have an episode name in the Channels web interface. Mostly daily shows, news, etc. that would not tend to have one.
Did this fix the recordings with incorrect data too? I looked last night at it and didn't see any incorrect descriptions.
Its possible. Were you seeing wrong descriptions or wrong episode titles?
