Large Library Not Being Fully Scanned

Hi folks - I'm wondering if there are any undocumented limits on local library size. I have a large library of local files and it is consistently only scanning files that are in directories starting with A-B and then stopping (in other words, only about 7% of my library is being imported).

Attempting to re-scan the directory doesn't pick anything else up. Deleting the folder, re-adding it and re-scanning it results in the same behavior. No errors in the console, no indication that it's not scanning the full library other than the fact that when I browse TV Shows, the last show alphabetically ends in 'B'.

My only thoughts are a) there is some upper limit on total number of files, and I'm hitting it, or b) there is some video in my library that the scanner silently chokes on.

I'm not really sure how to debug this. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

This is some sort of bug or there's another explanation. There's no limit on the library size.

Ok, well... I fixed it, kinda. It was definitely related to a file, but unfortunately in the process of debugging I deleted the exact file, and now I can't dig in to see exactly what it was about that file that was causing it.

It was either a permissions issue with one specific file, or perhaps some weird filesystem glitch. When I tried to 'ls' the folder that contained the file (prior to deleting it), it returned this weird message:

[./Filename.mkv: No such file or directory (os error 2)] (replaced the name of the file for reasons)

So, it knew the name of the file, but it also thought the file didn't exist? A mystery. Either way, once I deleted that file, I manually triggered a re-scan and it's started indexing the rest of the alphabet.

Gotcha, what filesystem and OS? Is it local disk or network mount.

I'll look into ignoring this error automatically
