Since updating to the current release, my audio on all sources only outputs at PCM 2.0. Before I was able to get 5.1. Is anyone else having this issue or know a fix?. My client, AplleTV 4k, is set to Dolby‘s surround. My other apps on the Apple TV output audio just fine.
What source was giving you 5.1 audio before?
I can’t remember, but I do recall some sources doing it before. It seems something changed with this latest release. The audio is now playing at a lower volume on all my sources. It’s not doing this in other apps.
EDIT: mlb server seems like it used to play surround sound and now I’m only getting sound out of my center channel speaker. It also seems like some of the fast channels were as well, but I may be wrong on those.
Fast Channels are stereo only.
Thanks. I know there were some channels that were 5.1 though and now they are not. It includes some m3u I bring in. I was wondering if other people were having the same problem. I don’t think it’s my equipment as I’ve checked it. The issue is I used to hear surround sound in my 5.1.4 set up but now all I hear is everything coming out of the center channel on CHANNELS. There’s no changes to my receiver and it plays everything fine from other apps. This is only since the stable release.
OTA (ABC/CBS/CW/FOX/NBC) should be 5.1.
I’ll try that with my HD home run sources and see what happens.
EDIT: HD home run sources do play in 5.1 so it’s the other sources I’m using. Thank you for helping me troubleshoot. I didn’t even think to check the OTA.
