Maybe I'm just not sure how this is supposed to work... I set the new Library > Allow Deletion to "Just DVR Recordings" so my local content will not accidentally be deleted. As expected, when I open one of my local shows, the Trash button is no longer there. But it does still have the Keep Forever button. Does this button serve a purpose for shows that cannot be deleted?
It just hides Trash buttons.
Thanks @maddox. So just curious - In this scenario, what exactly does Keep Forever do? Maybe that should be hidden as well?
If your show's series pass is set to auto prune and automatically delete recordings based on the rule, setting a recording to Keep Forever will prevent it from being deleted by the auto prune.
You will still be able to manually delete it.
Right, and that makes perfect sense. But Keep Forever doesn't really apply to local content, right? I'm suggesting that maybe it should be hidden for local content.
No it isn't, because it's in the scope of passes.
This is sort of a feature that has not aged well with Channels' growth. We plan to move the keep settings to Shows and not their passes. This way if you want auto pruning on imports, they will work there as well. It's just sort of gross right now.
I'm pretty sure you just described my college girlfriend. Seemed like a good idea at first. But didn't age well. And now it's just sort of gross.
As always, thanks for the awesomeness!!
