Limit dvr recordings at one time?

I have a synology ds918+. I love the channels app, just got it up and running and I record my local channels via HD home run as well as some m3u streams. The HD home run is obviously limited in tuners, but sometimes the streaming channels will bog down my system (for example if a few channels are playing a series and going in order and it is set to record all episodes I may have several streams running concurrently). This makes my 918+ come to a crawl. Is there a way to tell the server only dvr "x" number of shows at once, or is the only option manually going in and stopping recordings or pausing passes?

Looks like you're looking for the stream limit setting in your m3u source:

Just recording shouldn't cause an issue with your NAS.
What taxes it is running commercial detection or viewing (watching) that requires transcoding.
