I have 1,525 Missing/Deleted recordings. A quick search shows at least a few on different drives than the episode details list. I have probably added/removed 20 drivers over the last 5 years (and I do update them in settings) so it doesn't surprise me that some are mismatched.
How do I link the physical locations of the recordings back to the database?
If you're referring to recordings that you've moved, you can go to the DVR settings and go to General -> Library Database and add the Storage Path for those other locations. If you're referring to Personal Media, you'll just have to reimport them in the new location.
Recordings I have moved. Channels apparently believes some are still in the original location, even after I have moved them to a new location and added the new storage path. I record a lot of shows each day and regularly copy them from the recordings SSD out to an external drive.
The Storage Path locations must be at the root of a DVR directory structure (a directory that contains a TV/ and Movies/ directory). If you have done that, the DVR will automatically see the files in that new location.
Thank you for the reminder.
Took a while to search 27,000 recordings, but I found the majority of the missing files on one of my drives under a TV/TV folder structure. Just a dumb move/paste error. Moved the recording folders under the top TV folder and they appeared.
About another 100 I had moved them out of the Playon Cloud folder some time ago before I learned you can't move file from that folder.
100 or were legitimately not be found and I removed.
Quite happy that after 5 years of running Channels across multiple PCs and drives have had so few issues.
