LinkPi Configuration HTTP or HLS

I have spent the holiday break cleaning up my Channels DVR config, which includes ah4c using an Osprey DirecTV box and a LinkPi ENC1-V3. I have also been digging through some old threads before asking this question. I am hesitant to change something that's working, but one question I still have is how to configure the LinkPi. I have seen posts here using the HTTP stream setting in the LinkPi and the MPEG-TS setting for the custom channel for the source in Channels, and I have seen other posts that use HLS for the LinkPi stream and Channels source.

Is one preferred over the other?

At least with ADBTuner I could never get HLS to work.

Assuming you had been able to get it to work, was there a reason you picked HLS in the first place?

I'm really not sure. I just could never get it to work, so I don't see a need.
