Technically not CDVR related, but hoping someone can help. Since setting up a new server on Ubuntu, often times when I try to tune a TVE channel I get an error, saying that the drive/directory that I have mapped my recording database to cannot be found. The first couple of times it happened, It seemed that Linux was just not mounting the drive. It is not the same drive the OS is installed but a separate dedicated 1 TB spinner. Anyway, I thought I had corrected the mount options to auto mount the drive upon login. Well that didn’t seem to help for long, and when it does mount it, it changes the name and path??? and I can’t seem to find it in channels to re-add it. So at this point I am having to reformat the drive every time. Unfortunately I’m not a Linux expert so I’m really not even sure where to start. Any advice is appreciated.
Is it a usb drive? If so I would mount as uuid. Also you may want to look at webmin for ease of drive mounting as well. I'm a Linux guy and found webmin to be so. Much easier then doing it manually
How did you do this?
I ask because on my server I set the external recording drive to "Mount at system startup" and I have never experienced any issues.
Does your recording path show something like /mnt/your_external_drive/recording_folder/?
Mine shows /mnt/4TB-USB-Drive/DVR
I’ll get back you on this.
