Little help - DVR server reinstall Windows

Hi All,
Need little help (yes I have been reading the install guide, trouble shooting guide and community help articles)... windows computer and I have the Channels DVR "app" box open it gives 3 options Open Settings, Stop DVR engine, Uninstall.

  • open settings - results in a browser window opening with a spinning symbol that does nothing but spin
  • stop DVR engine - nothing happens
  • uninstall DVR engine is greyed out not clickable.

IDEAS?

bigger back story..

  • running fine until week ago on mini pc different location (state)
  • power surge resulted in going offline (can't go to reset for another week)
  • as a back up have windows computer here used to run (2021) channels dvd on it (still has some recordings can see the files)
  • for short term I would like to switch sources run channels dvr on local computer until I can fix and get back on line other computer....
  • thought I could just open and continue (not so much)
  • thought I could un then re install (thats where im stuck).

ideas?

If I recall, you use the install app to uninstal

Can you find channels-dvr running in Task Manager?

Try ending it and removing c:\programdata\channelsdvr then reinstall

thanks for reply and assistance.

smart didnt think task manager! (in my defense, mac guy, old old windows guy, just use windows for channels on mini pc and flightsim on gamingpc) it works so never deep dive into them.

so far so good re-install went fast! thank you.

now may i humbly ask the following
step by step for simply using this computer for a week (how to set up and use as primary)... then in a week or so switch back to other minipc that has been handling load for years ?
