Live TV and Recordings Playing In Slow Motion for 1080i programs longer than 1hr

I wanted to post a thread here even though it's a duplicate of this issue:

https://community.getchannels.com/t/live-tv-playing-in-slow-motion-on-apple-tv-4k

https://community.getchannels.com/t/live-tv-audio-desync-after-an-hour-on-apple-tv/

Because those threads seem to be very focused on it being an Apple TV problem specifically. It's not. It's also happening on the android TV app with any 1080i live TV show or recording that lasts longer than 1 hour.

The playback gets slow and audio goes out of sync. If you seek forward or backward in a recording when this happens, it can solve it, but it tends to jump to a very different part of the recording, usually several minutes later.

I've seen this on my 2019 Shield Pro, but it's so infrequent I chalk it up to my 15-year-old server box or "isolated incidents". Probably see it once a week on average. I stop/start the game/show to remedy.

The fact that it also happens on the latest Apple TV apps (and my PC server is a powerful gaming quality machine) seems to suggest it's not related to poor specs. My guess is Channels DVR is doing something odd with the way it reads time codes in interlace fields, since some users reported the issue being solved with a different deinterlacing mode on the Apple TV app. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an equivalent setting on my android boxes. Mine are 2023 Onn 4K and 2024 Onn 4K Pro.

Well, well, this has been happening on my Murdoch Mysteries imports. But I didn't think it was a bug. I mostly use the Channels Beta on a second gen Apple Tv 4k. It's annoying as heck, because I tend to be a lip-reader...
