Watching live tv through the on now section on the DVR web interface looks to be displaying the wrong aspect ratio?

Did the aspect change while you were watching? Is it fixed if you stop and start watching again?
No, from pressing watch now it was incorrect, stopping and starting makes no difference.
Switching from hardware transcoder to software does fix it and the aspect ratio looks correct again.
Can the hardware transcoder be fixed to display the correct aspect ratio?
Sounds like its probably a bug in the windows hardware transcoder. It can probably be fixed, but will require some investigation and testing.
Is that an SD or HD channel?
Seems to be SD channels that have the problem. HD channels all look okay right now.
I made a change to the windows hardware transcoder that might fix this. Can you try upgrading to the latest pre-release, by holding down SHIFT KEY and clicking “Check for Updates” on the DVR web UI.
After the upgrade to v2018.03.20.2358 completes, try streaming an SD channel again with the hardware transcoder enabled and let me know if it works.
Thank you. No that didn’t fix the SD channels. HD still looks fine. Also, the transcoder does not appear to start for all SD channels. I think this is the relevant section from the logs for the channel that fails:-

Could you hit record on that channel, wait a couple minutes, then stop the recording from the DVR schedule, and email me the file to [email protected]
Thanks for the sample. I was able to figure out the issue preventing some SD channels from working and fix it for the next build.
Still not quite sure what’s happening with the aspect ratio, as there is code in the transcoder to deal with it already. If you have a mac or iOS device, can you try via Safari to see if it shows the correct aspect ratio there?
Yep thank you. Seems fine with the SD channels not starting.
Probably easier to show you some screen shots, this is using Chrome & Safari on a mac, same channel a few minutes apart
Chrome:-

Safari:-

Thanks. I finally got my Windows machine up and running after spending all day yesterday updating it. I was able to reproduce this issue and fix it for the next build.
New pre-release build is available, you can use the SHIFT+check to update.
Working great, thank you
Cheers! Thanks for reporting this, and for help testing all the fixes.
