I just moved from an Mac Mini set up to a Synology Nas and i restored the back up..everything looks fine but I can not ge live tv to work. it has a HUGE lag and it is VERY choppy. I don't know if I have something set up wrong or what but i can't even watch a show.
I'm sitting here watching a recording and its working a lot better but live tv just isnt working.
nevermind...it actually seems to be working better today.
NAS was probably indexing files. You should turn that off for the DVR share. You need this on shares you use from your computers if you are also using the NAS to store files, however. To find files from a NAS share mounted on your mac, MacOS Finder uses the indexes.
should the DVR been on a totally separate pool and/or volume? Right now I have it on a Media Volume with all the rest of my movies and music
It can be on the same volume, but should be its own share just for Channels DVR. And no other apps should use this share.
it does have its own share and nothing else uses it...
Are you having issues? Or what are you trying to figure out?
i was originally have issues when I first set it up but it has been working ok since...I just want to make sure that I have the optimal set up for the best performance as using channels with a NAS is new to me and the synology nas as a whole is new to me also.
