I set up Channels live tv & dvr this afternoon. Everything was so easy! Even the dvr portion was effortless. This is a quality app/software.
One question I do have though - is there a quality setting somewhere for the live tv streaming? It does look really good, but it does seem to be just a tad less sharp than a feed straight from the ota antenna to the tv; and even a tad less sharp than the feed from the cable box. I’m using an hdhomerun quatro.
Just a quick update - I’ve been fiddling with the ATV 4K settings and the settings on my Samsung tv and have been able to improve things a little bit. Still can’t get the picture through the ATV 4K to match the OTA quality though.

There is no quality setting as the video comes raw from the tuner and is displayed at full resolution.
If you have a 4K tv try setting the “SDR” option in the app to On.
I’d also try comparing a 720p channel vs 1080i channel to see if maybe the difference you’re noticing has to do with deinterlacing. FOX and ABC are 720p, while CBS and NBC are 1080i
