Load time for Apple TV app

Hi all :slight_smile:

Love the app; so much better than any other options for the Apple TV…

I do notice though that it takes a good 30 seconds – sometimes longer – to load up once I select it from the grid.

Is this normal, or something unique to me?

I have pretty good internet (around 40-50mbps); I am also using a Synology Beyond Cloud 2 TB NAS to hold the DVR recordings, if that makes a difference.

Any opinions would be welcome :slight_smile:

Live TV playback should start in less than a second. You’re saying it takes 30s before video playback starts? And you’re talking about live tv playback, or recordings?

On the Settings tab, is Tuner Sharing on or off?

It could take that long if the nas has to wake up, I know my QNAP takes a while to wake up.

I think the issue might indeed be that my Synology needs to wake up. I noticed this last night that, while the initial app loading time took about 30-45 seconds, switching around after that was swift.

Just need to look into how to keep my NAS from going to sleep (and if that is something I want to do in general)
