I'm sorry if I missed this information somewhere but was curious what file formats are currently supported for the local content functionality? I'm anxiously awaiting the day when I can import all my content into Channels.
Currently I have all my movies and tv shows backed up in uncompressed MKV files. I'm guessing channels is yet to be able to decode and play these as is but was curious what formats are supported? Is it just .mp4 files right now?
MKV containers are fully supported.
If you can check out the file with ffprobe successfully—or otherwise use it with Ffmpeg's family of tools—chances are it'll work with Channels without issue.
Oh sweet, that's awesome! I'll have to do some testing with ffmpeg tools and see. I just used MakeMKV to backup my discs but that doesn't encode them into anything that's playable on most services so just wanted to make sure before imported anything.
