Local Content Movie Matching

I have a question about the difference between the local content movie match that happens using Gracenote and TheMovieDB.

  1. Does the DVR treat them any different?
  2. When a movie is matched using Gracenote, you get the Visibility option (Library, Kids, Both)... but when matched using TheMovieDB, the Visibility option disappears. Why?
  3. It appears the DVR defaults to Gracenote, which does not give very good plot descriptions and tags, is there a way to refresh the entire catalog using TheMovieDB? I have been slowly re-matching all of the shows using TheMovieDB, but that is slow due to the number of movies.
  4. How does the DVR Client filtering work with Tags in a mixed "matching" environment? For example, The 40-Year-Old Virgin has a tag of "Romantic Comedy" with Gracenote and tags of "Comedy" and "Romance" with TheMovieDB. Will the "Comedy" filter 'see' the "Romantic Comedy" tag?
  5. Are there any concerns with having a DVR environment where some movies have been matched with Gracenote and some have been matched with TheMovieDB?

Thank you all!!

  1. No
  2. Oof, this is a bug.
  3. We have plans to make it the default.
  4. No, those Genre's are Genres. They're 1:1.
  5. Not really. Except the bug in 2

#2 has been resolved. It will be in the next pre-release that's on it's way up and should be available in about 20 mins.
